Ancient Roman Life

Part A- Completed in class observations and website navigations

Part B

Two new ideas I have learned about Ancient Roman Life:
  1. Roman women gazed into mirrors of highly polished metal, instead of using glass like we do today.
  2. Children wore special lockets around their necks called Bulla’s. The special locket protected them from any source of evil.

One tip to easily read and navigate the website:
If you read the graphs on the website it will give concrete examples of Rome as a kingdom, republic and empire. Thoroughly reading the graphs will give insight to questions students may have, or want to answer.

One informational feature I have found useful and developmentally appropriate for fourth graders:
I thought it was great to see the website defining difficult terms in kid friendly language. After a child understands the concept or idea behind something, it makes it much easier to read and learn about.
